Set of 3 Swedish Military Skiing Badges – Gold, Silver & Bronze

This complete set of Swedish Military Skiing Badges (Militära Skidlöparmärket) includes all three levels of the award: Gold, Silver, and Bronze. The Swedish Armed Forces gave these badges to soldiers who passed the demanding military skiing tests. Together, the three grades show the full progression of skill in one of Sweden’s most important winter training traditions.

Authentic Silver Badges With Early Hallmarks

Two badges—the Silver and the Gold (which is gilted sterling silver)—carry official Swedish silver hallmarks. These marks confirm both the silver content and the production year:

  • E8 – 1931, an early pre-WWII issue

  • R8 – 1943, a WWII-era issue

These early hallmarked pieces add strong historical interest, and they make the set more desirable for collectors.

Quality Craftsmanship by Sporrong & Co

All three badges come from Sporrong & Co, one of Sweden’s oldest and most respected makers of military insignia. Because of this, the badges show:

  • Clear details in the wreath and ski-pole motif

  • Strong and original finishes

  • Secure, fully working fastening pins

  • Crisp craftsmanship typical of Sporrong’s medals

Badge Details

  • Gold badge: 4.06 g (gilted sterling silver)

  • Silver badge: 3.96 g (sterling silver)

  • Bronze badge: 5.36 g (bronze alloy)

  • Size: 30 × 42 mm each

A Rare Complete Trio

Complete sets like this do not appear often, especially with two early silver-hallmarked pieces. Because of this rarity, the set is an excellent choice for collectors of:

  • Scandinavian militaria

  • Historic skiing awards

  • Silver hallmark medals

  • Sporrong military insignia

This set offers a valuable chance to add a fully matched and historically significant Swedish award trio to your collection.
