Description

1912 Bulgaria 20 Stotinki Coin, VF – Ferdinand I

The 1912 Bulgarian 20 Stotinki coin is a historically significant piece issued during the reign of King Ferdinand I (Фердинанд I), who ruled Bulgaria from 1887 to 1918. This coin was minted in copper-nickel, with a weight of 5.0 g and a diameter of 21 mm, and it remains a sought-after example of early 20th-century Bulgarian coinage.

On the obverse, the design features the crowned arms of Bulgaria enclosed within a circle, surrounded by the national motto in Cyrillic:
*“БЪЛГАРИЯ * СЪЕДИНЕНИЕТО ПРАВИ СИЛАТА “
which translates to “Bulgaria – Unity Makes Strength.”

The reverse displays the denomination and date, clearly marked as:
“20 СТОТИНКИ 1912”, which translates to “20 Stotinki 1912.”
The simple yet elegant layout is framed by clean fields and well-defined edges. This coin was minted in Kremnica, Slovakia, one of Europe’s oldest and most respected mints.

The edge is plain, and the coin remains in Very Fine (VF) condition, showing moderate wear but with all key details still sharp and readable.

Whether you’re expanding a Balkan collection, interested in royal European coinage, or simply appreciate historical coins with cultural value, the 1912 20 Stotinki is a fine and affordable piece to add to your holdings.
