Extremely rare PCGS XF45 BN 1869 Great Britain 1 Penny coin S-3954 featuring Queen Victoria (1837-1901). This bronze penny displays the young laureate bust of Victoria facing left, encircled by a toothed border and inner linear circle on both sides. The obverse legend reads VICTORIA DG BRITT REG FD. On the reverse, Britannia is seated right, holding a trident, with a bell-shaped lighthouse to the left and a ship in sail in front of the sea, surrounded by the inscription ONE PENNY, with the date 1869 in the exergue. This coin, identified by its S-3954; KM-749.2; Freeman 59; Dies 6 & G; BMC.1685 – VR; Gouby. J/g references, is one of the rarest dates in the Bun head Penny series, struck using only one set of dies. Typically found in lower grades, this example is a significant key rarity, making it an exceptional find for discerning collectors.
