Description
1908 2x10 kop Lithuania Vilnius to Germany Leipzig, Letter Cover
This 1908 registered cover from Vilnius, then part of the Russian Empire (now Lithuania), to Leipzig, Germany, is a remarkable piece of postal history. It features two Russian imperial stamps, each valued at 10 kopecks, and is marked with a Vilna Voksal stamp, dated January 10, 1908. The cover originates from Tobacco Shop (ger.: Rauchwaren Handlung) L. Danischewsky & M. Kulkess, located at German Street 31 in Vilnius. This historical artifact not only represents early 20th-century international correspondence but also provides a glimpse into the commercial activities of the time. A valuable addition for any postal history collector, it captures a unique period in the history of Vilnius and its role within the Russian Empire.
